About
Father – First and foremost, it is what I am and love most about my life. Two boys, 20 and 23, and my beautiful Tweeny-bopper of 11 1/2 years, Alana.
Patriot – I’m an American. No hyphenated, politically correct, or leftist cultural version of what I am. Just that. I was born here. Have served in the Armed Forces here. And was raised by parents, who immigrated here legally from Mexico, that taught me to love the country that has given us so much opportunity. I’ve instilled that same level of respect and reverence for America in my children. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very proud of my Hispanic heritage, as everyone who has ancestry outside the USA should be of their individual ethnic heritage, but I am an American through and through. Heck, I joke with my kids that when I get cut, I bleed red, white, and blue. Yes, when they were younger that both made them giggle and wonder if it was true.
Student – Currently attending San Jose State in San Jose, CA. I’m majoring in Business Admin with an emphasis in MIS. I may end up minoring in Computer Science, because I’m very interested in the programming side of my major. Yes, being a bit more ‘mature’ than the average student can be both a hindrance and a bonus, depending on the subject matter at hand. I don’t tend to do well in liberal arts classes that are taught by extremely opinionated, left-leaning, socialism-loving professors, and I’m more than willing to share those interesting instances.
Soldier – I’ve served nearly 12 years in the Army National Guard. Eight of those were with an Infantry battalion, which did deploy to Iraq during OIF III. Love all my fellow brothers and sisters serving the US in uniform and support them without reservation.
I’ll post up just about whatever comes to mind. Sometimes it’ll just be links, photos, or a quick blurb. Other times, I may get a bit more garrulous and go on and on about whatever it is that I’m feeling that day.
